Graeme, hehehe...I only captured the images :-)))...A closed resturant with a white wash smeared on the inside of the glass...the effect of this one may be the result of me shooting at an angle so my reflection was absent...

Amazing illusion of depth within such a shallow surface. I remember old blanked out windows like this from the old neighborhood. A little water and some Bon Ami cleanser!

The shooting at an angle probably caused the DOF.
Besides the layered structure the DOF also contributes to the amazing illusion of depth I think.
But also without analyses a brilliant and fascinating image !!!!!!!!!!!!
