i'm fascinated by the shapes of some of the crazy highway intersections, or human habitrails, around dallas/ft. worth. this was a no-look through the sunroof shot, taken at about 60 mph, wide open at 1/1600th of a second. which is really not a lot of time if you think about it. occasionally, i'll pop a bunch in a row and felt i got lucky here. something about this just composition just feels good to me. then again i'm kind of an idiot, so it'll probably be universally despised.

this message may be a little late. but is it really ever too late for a random picture of a toy indian? i say hell no!

i adopted millhouse from the german shorthaired pointer rescue. when i got him, he was a malnourished stray about 1-year old, who seems to have been raised by wolves. he's incredibly athletic and strong, energetic and too dang smart, but he came with almost every bad habit in the book. of course, he eventually ate the book. i've always gotten dogs as little pups, so teaching, and unteaching, this beastie boy has been a challenge. but he's very sweet and thrives on affection (or attention) and he's behaving better day by day. ok...month by month.

the edge of a boat wake. i debated posting this in color, since the sunsetish light was pretty sweet, but went b&w because it emphasized the amazing rolling forms of those waves.

taken from the balcony of my parents' vacation place on marco island, florida. i love the pattern the wind was making and the way the sinking sun was catching the radiating waves.
