Victorian Meccano - 1

Victorian Meccano - 1

A change - a new photograph - shock horror

First time to Queenferry since 1980 and first time ever with the DSLR - it's pretty impressive, and following its refurb looking in very good nick.

I hate wind turbines, but somehow I think I would probably have given this planning permission

Amazed how, when you are standing under the bridge, you can hear the rumble of the approaching train long before you ever see it. All it needed was a steam train to come over, but you can't have everything

Really lucky with the light, as sun was just coming up and lighting up the girders

Waverley Leaving Gourock

Waverley Leaving Gourock

1970, I think, at Gourock - Second of two recovered from old negatives
Iona in background, which was on the Gourock Dunoon service at the time, I think

About to board a Clyde River Steamer Club evening cruise. I think on King George V to Tighnabruaich, but not sure.

I knew that I had taken this photograph, but it had been lost. Then I found the negatives and scanned it. Since it was from a box brownie the negative was enormous, so had to scan in strips and merge. Also lots of marks/blemishes etc which neede to get sorted. Not so sharp as other one so didn't spend any time sorting out marks etc. Not sure if white marks are waves and seagulls, or just scratches and mold.
