Before the rain starts ....

Bareina is a very small dessert village in the south of Mauritania, West Africa. The "rainy" period starts in July and ends ejd September. This was one of the rare days that the rain was about to poor down from heaven. This is a view of the sky just minutes before the rain started.

Very dramatic sky. I was in Nouakchott in July when it was raining- a dirty light spatter that fell from the sky and turned the city into a muddy sandpit- not a particularly pleasant atmosphere!
