New Lens (Canon 70-200mm IS)

...Picked this up today used at one of the two decent camera stores in town.
The lens is less than a year old and was used by a professional sports photographer. There are a number of scratches in the paint on the lens but the optics look to be totally clean... The guy also never sent his warranty card in and so now I get the full Canon warranty with it.
This is the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS lens which is one of the finest lenses Canon makes and produces wonderful images.

I can't wait to put this to use...
I hope I get some kickass photos out of
this, if I can't the problem is my fault and
not with the lens/camera.

Hope your bank balance has recovered. Nice
glass.

Yup, I buy all my glass in cash.... I refuse
to charge anything or spend any money that I
don't have in my hand right then on camera
gear. A long time ago I had made the mistake
of charging stuff, now all my debt is paid
off and I refuse to ever go back.
Hopefully in the next month or two I will
be buying one or two lenses. I'm looking at
either the Canon 10-22mm EFS or the Tokina
12-24mm for an ultra-wide lens, and I'm also
looking at the Canon 85mm f/1.8 prime lens.
Which aside from a Macro lens (would likely
get the Canon 100mm) would more or less
complete my lens collection.

Okay, I _am_ jealous, I got the non-L 70-300
IS instead and it ate my whole tax return.
Dare I inquire how much you got it for?

@Broken Haiku: I got it for a crazy cheap price... $1250
(USD) which is a deal because new they are
$1,700.

A lot of money, but as you said a good price.
I hope to get an L lense one day too, I love
the feel of good quality and am prepared to
pay for it.
