ladies and gentlemen...The Beatles!

Here is the Fab Four in needle felted wool. They are each about 10" tall and are quite flexible and lifelike. The challenge was not only to make them look like the Beatles but to create them in the same scale. These are my favorite work to date.

Original Felt Alive Needle Felted Wool Sculptures by Kay Petal

I sculpt my characters out of wool with a single barbed felting needle. They are fully jointed with seamless (no thread) needle felted joints.

They are 100% solid felted wool. I do not use wire armatures yet my characters can be posed and positioned very easily while always returning to the same position I created them in. Wool is an amazing sculpting medium!

I'm sure you could make a lot of $$$ making these guys..Beatle fans are everywhere. of all ages. from my parents to my grandkids ( mostly my age group i used to think)....i keep going back to look at them. I'd take pictures even before i sold them to turn int little cards or posters...could use this idea in many different ways including selling the set for a lot of money.

I don't know if I could repeat this creation - they really are one of a kind. Besides my Sarah Palin doll that I sold on eBAy, I tend to keep all of my work - While I could likely sell my little Beatles, I feel there is much greater value in keeping them - not sure for what exactly but my guts are telling me to hang on to them. But I have found I am love with creating caricatures in wool - so who's next??

When I saw the thumbnail of it even though I didn't know they were the Beatles, I already just knew they had to be. Not because I recognized that fact from their faces (I'm not really familiar with them), but from their clothes and the fact that there's four people. xDD You had to be, like, SUPER talented to produce something like that. :] Btw, their feet are so funny. xD
