Very nice figure but you mustve misread my comment, I said BACK printing on legs (The place where the holes for the studs to go in but you obviously know that) wasnt possible or in the least avoided at all costs by LEGO. I suppose its possible but lets admit that LEGO wont get into from where we can see. Side leg printing is possible, not entirely easy for LEGO to do but possible. I saw nothing about back leg printing in your first picture so Im supposing you didnt understand my comment.

If you'll dig flickr a little more or google it, you'll find more pics of it :)

Lego has the full potential and capability to print on all sides and angles.
They just refuse to do it, and a guy in a garage makes them look bad when he has obsolete tools and pulls it off.

Edit: They are not the enemy, you know? You simply can't offer EVERYTHING people want and still keep it affordable, that's all.

Well they've been holding back all these years, and ever since they been having pieces made overseas now, they pretty much been able to do anything.
Not to mention that they can do, but just aren't. And with this being a promo fig, they didn't have to make mass quantity of it, just limited, since that's what promos are.
Not to mention they have been offering new stuff for the past tens years in the Bionicle theme. Always new molds and pieces and colors like that every year. So if they can do that with molds, they can do that with printing.

Hm, do you think if you bought something that day to get the figure, could you take it back later and exchange it? I might try this, since the only things I'm planning on purchasing are going to be around $35, not $50.

I guess LEGO is being a bit too cheap. I saw the pic of your hulk and I can agree it looks cooler. I think its the complexity of doing it. The print has to be exactly around the holes. Printing on the feet, side of legs, arms, etc. are also hard but easyer. Its more complex printing the back of the legs.

awesome fig I dig the simple articulation. that custom hulk is nice too but it is sort of scary zombie face.
