I knew people surfed the great lakes but I didn't know they would go out in winter until I visited a site called Unsalted. I did a little blurb about them on my

That is awesome! I've seen some things on PBS about surfing the Great Lakes but they focused on activity around Chicago - in the winter!!

When I took this last year, I said that come September 24th, 2007 I'd be out there. The waves didn't cooperate, but my son and I have been out a few times on our new board and the Lake Michigan surfing season is upon us.

It's pretty cool to see this photo on your excellent site next to a ripping shot from Oahu!!!
