      If you're ever in a more northerly clime, a great strategy is to take a late night walk every night (my wife does and that's usually how I find out). You can also start a call list with your friends. Waaay back when, I had a BBS by which folks would alert each other.

      Have you ever seen The Aurora Page from Michigan Tech?

      Just listening to CBC radio 2 and they mentioned that NASA & the Canadian Space Agency are about to launch 5 small probes to observe the northern lights. Now that's some serious light spotting:

      Saw them in northern MI many moons ago...a sight I'll NEVER forget. Like green curtains in the wind off Lake Superior!!
