From what I hear, most of Europe is in advance of us in terms of investment in alternative energy. I'm really hoping that we can catch up and that our prediliction for fossil fuels doesn't put us at a competitive disadvantage in the years ahead.
I should add that there's a bunch of effort going on in the US in general and in Michigan in particular. Check Absolute Michigan keyword "energy" for some stories & links.

Hello. I have put a small version of this photo on Michigan’s 21st Century Energy Plan on Absolute Michigan.
I should add that it would be GREAT if folks could add more shots of windmills, solar and other renewable energy efforts in Michigan to the Absolute Michigan pool!

just a couple hours north in Sault Ste Marie canada we've got 120 of them.... you can see them great looking west when crossing the international bridge. Our city has also been picked for a large solar energy plant too. It's great to see the move towards green technologies!

Great capture! This looks like it could be the one up on top of M-72 heading out towards Empire.
