The story of this photo:
This was one of the last shots from our trip to Thailand in March. Bangkok international airport has a nice architecture which I was trying to capture here. Unfortunately, I did not bracket this shot. I was probably too tired from the whole trip. ;-) Therefore, I had to resort to a pseudo HDR here.
Take a look at my "HDR Cookbook"! It contains some more information on my techniques.
How it was tonemapped:
> Preparation: developed the RAW file with ACR (including CA reduction) [details]
> Reduce the chromatic aberration
> Created three exposures (0, -2, +2 ev)
> Tone mapping: Photomatix Pro 4.0 (Detail Enhancer)
How it was post-processed:
> Post-processing was done in Photoshop
> Topaz Adjust on the entire image to get back the colors and the details [details]
> Topaz Denoise [details]
> Saturation layer on the orange parts of the roof (master)
> Saturation layer on the metal elements (master)
> Curves layer on the metal elements (increased reflective look)
> Global saturation and levels layer to fine-tune the colors and contrast
> Sharpening using the high-pass filter [details]
