The image shows the columns and the underside of few of the 100 domes of the Shah Jahan Mosque located in Thatta, Pakistan. Built by the Great Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan during the period 1644-1647, it costed the royal exchequer 900,000 Shah Jehani rupees. The mosque can accommodate 20,000 worshippers, and is built in a manner that a person speaking inside one end of the dome can be heard at the other end, without the aid of any sound amplifying devices.
