My name is Kate Earl from Little Heroes Foundation based in Adelaide, South Australia. I’m writing to you in sincere hope of gaining your support for the inaugural roll out of DoozieDoodles – a global fundraising program for ChildFamilyCare supporting children and their families who have been diagnosed with cancer and other serious illness.
This creative fundraising program relies heavily on the involvement of celebrities, VIP’s, artists, illustrators and captains of industry and I’ve been lead to your website and hope you might be willing to support the program with a DoozieDoodle of your own.
I’ve taken the liberty of outlining the DoozieDoodles program below and will keep my fingers crossed that you like the concept and might be willing to assist me by submitting your DoozieDoodle to our online auction.
DoozieDoodles: The program is called DoozieDoodles and is designed to raise funds for ChildFamilyCare who provides and facilitates access to essential support programs and services that improve the quality of life for children living with cancer from initial diagnosis, through intensive treatment, remission and beyond.
A DoozieDoodle? A Doodle to most people is a personal drawing, a collection of trademark sketches and drawings, created perhaps absent-mindedly while on the phone, on hold, creating a new recipe, in a meeting or whenever you’re feeling creative. Or perhaps your DoozieDoodles are created purposefully while brainstorming, planning and experimenting. Doodles can be meaningless or sometimes carry a message, but invariably they are an outlet for artistic expression. We want to harness this creativity to raise funds for ChildFamilyCare and hope you’ll join us in this the first roll out of our DoozieDoodles program.
Who’s Doodling?: Since we opened the program in late 2011, DoozieDoodles has received local and international interest with big names and highly creative people now submitting solo DoozieDoodles (created by individuals rather than teams) including John Travolta, Jeff Fenech, James Reyne Jerry Lewis, Joel Edgerton, Daryl Braithwaite, Stan Walker, Anthony Callea, Max Walker, Rachel Sporn, Amber Halliday, Luke Schenscher, Adam Ballinger, Pat Kelly, and Brett Maher to name but a few.
We are continuing to invite local, national and international VIP’s, celebrities, musicians, entertainers, singers, bands, sports heroes, sports teams, politicians, artists & illustrators, chefs, designers, TV presenters and all supporters of ChildFamilyCare from across the nation.
This small selection above offers visual clarity about the concept of DoozieDoodles; some of these are highly artistic, some will be sought after because of who they were created by and some are plain funny - they’re all unique!
How To Doodle:-
DoozieDoodles can be created on anything, and in fact the more unique the better so it could be done on a photograph, a piece of card, a product label or packaging, a canvas, a napkin, a post-it note, a book cover or of course on a plain white piece of paper, it’s up to the Doodler entirely.
All DoozieDoodlse will be listed on the DoozieDoodles website before they are then auctioned. The auction will officially open in August with all bids closing in December 2012. Ideally we would like to see all DoozieDoodles submitted by end July but will continue to receive them happily throughout August – December before we commence the program again in January for 2013.
The program will incorporate 4 key categories: Solo DoozieDoodles: This is the core of the program with DoozieDoodles contributed by celebrities, entertainers, authors, musicians, comedians, TV presenters, DJ’s, artists, illustrators, sporting heroes, avid doodlers and ChildFamilyCare supporters Team DoozieDoodles: collaborative DoozieDoodle created by members of any teams and groups including sporting teams, recreational teams etc Progressive DoozieDoodle: created by a high profile Australian artist with contributions to the piece made by invited guests Community DoozieDoodles: DoozieDoodles contributed by children of school age and younger
This creative fundraising program will be offered enormous marketing & media support from the many and varied supporters of ChildFamilyCare as well as our corporate and media partners who have all embraced the program and we hope to roll this program out annually given the positive response we’re receiving this year.
I really hope that you like the concept of this program and might be willing to assist me. I look forward to hearing from you.
