CTP Art 011

CTP Art 011 by facinghistory.
Michelle L.
Drowning
Grade 11, Washington High School, Fremont

My artwork expresses my feelings about how the individual is suppressed by the media and by the society around them. Magazines influence us by telling us what’s seen as beautiful. We’re also affected by the world events around us. The mask represents a person caught in a sea of confusion of media and politics, struggling to put his or her own reflection back together again. The words in the background are this person’s thoughts, getting drowned out by society.
