Merry Xmas then ! Feliz Novidade ! Happy New year !!
Salvador do Mundo is a village in Bardez in Goa.
While on my frequent trips to and from to get some licensing issues for wine manufacturing to be resolved, I spied this giant Santa Claus in the making.
Yesterday I specifically went to shoot this tall eco friendly Santa made out of paper and grass and daubed with some paint in the festive spirit.
It is a novelty first, to see this rather large eco friendly Santa and then more heart warming is the message that the creators from Salvador de Mundo have in mind. It is the message of Climate change that seems to have taken hold of Santa's mind. Global Warming is shrinking the polar ice caps and the glaciers are retreating, the polar bears are suddenly getting out of their habitat, the seas are rising, the weather is all too freaky.
Santa Claus seems more concerned then the global leaders debating their lengthy debates at Copenhagen. Are you listening ??
Merry Xmas then !
Feliz Novidade !
Happy New year !!
from a lean melting Santa Claus and the people of Salvador de Mundo and Goa and India.
Have fun one and all !
In the frame is also Agnello aka Tony holding the Merry Xmas sigh board on my request to get the scale and perspective right for the photograph. His house house in green is right behind .

Theyyam In Kerala !
So from faces, faces, faces, and faces of Theyyam dancers of Kerala onto the torsos has been a long journey and it has been almost 2 years arriving here.
Theyyam performer at Kottyampovil in northern Kerala with his face and torso and the elaborate head gear which does not fit the frame here. Infact so large it is that a full length portrait would not do justice to either the head gear or the paintwork or the persona of the performer.
So here is a balance of the three in this portrait.
This is how the back view of the torso would be.
