I saw Lisa's picture a couple of weeks ago, and ever since then I've been looking out for a quote which would benefit from being partly in focus and partly out of focus. When I came across the Ansel Adams quote it was like Christmas. Not only did it contain the actual word "focus", but also the phrase "words become unclear"... and it was by one of the all time great photographers!!

Yes I agonised over the crop, I actually produced 3 crops - 1 square, exactly where you suggest, and one half-way between that and the one shown. I wanted it to be clear it was a (very) old typewriter ... but I'm not sure I made the right decision ;-)
