This is what the ceiling looks like under (or should I say above) black light. The purple that you see is painted with fluorescent tempera paint. The yellow part is glowing because it is yellow acrylic covered with two coats of phosphorescent medium. Even with no light on at all, this yellow part will continue to glow, but the purple only works in black light.
One of my friends said it looks like the ceiling of an opera house, and I replied that I couldn't afford a fancy opera house chandelier so I had to make my own. :)
