Today we remember many wars. So much blood has been spilled for freedom, for politics, for religion, for greed...

Did you just take this today, Nov. 11. I was on the other hill taking sunset shots.

Hi Sheldon. Yeah, I was up there at 7 a.m. this morning. My fingers nearly froze so I only stayed up there for about 20 min -- it was colder than I expected!

Hey, thanks for the comments, friends!

Sheldon - do you mean you were taking sunrise photos this morning? How weird is that! Guess I should have looked around before I went home again...

OughtToBeShot - I tried doing two different exposures and combining them with the hdr automate in photoshop, but it didn't work for me, so this is a not-so-sophisticated layer-and-cut-out job -- if you look closely, you can see the seam along the horizon line. One of these days I should learn how to do some hdr just to save some time!

The Merge To HDR feature in Photoshop isn't bad, but it's an odd duck. Most people give up on it for something... easier. If I recall, the strangest thing is that the preview isn't at all a representation of the final layered result. But don't quote me here... I'm going from memory and I just hauled my butt outta bed. :-)
