Awesome - I love how the smokestack looms out of the fog.

Good One!

making industrial look pretty....

If they leave the chimney after the shutdown
it can become nesting habitat like in Portland:

Thanks for the comments, folks, and Alan for the link. Indeed, this plant will supposedly be out of commission by year's end. I hope they keep the smokestack, but I have my doubts. Shoot it while you can. Ursula, looking forward to meeting you soon!

Wow, love this shot. It reminds me of the Stieglitz industrial work. Very nice!

Fantastic shot - I love how the two foreground buildings set off the smokestack....
I didn't recognize your new profile name. When did you change it? I hope it wasn't ages ago, and I've been that clueless!

Thanks, Areacode, that's a flattering comparison!
My fancy camera had been in the shop for fine-tuning and I was making do with a Canon G9 for a little while — it felt like I was shooting with 1 eye and 3 fingers, a real drag.
Tasawa, hmm, not exactly sure when I moved away from my original "exuberance //" moniker, sometime in Q4 '09 though. Exuberance is dead, long live natu®e //!! I've had that domain *forever* and I'm tired of it. { Maybe middle age has sapped the necessary level of exuberance from my bones... ;^) }

Par ces photos, tu nous montres San Francisco sous un jour inconnu du grand public.
Merci Matt.
