I noticed after editing this image, that the little Christmas light style lights that light the railings of the boat were turned off. Not sure if that’s a good thing or bad, but I think it makes this image somewhat unique. This image was taken at 2 something in the morning as we were exiting the park. The nice thing about this “shot” is that you don’t need a tripod because they’ve got those posts all along the boardwalk that make a perfect stabilizer to put your camera on.
In the past, I have posted pretty much an identical frame as far as
composition goes. But I think this is a much better picture. This is
a bracketed HDR image taken from 9 exposures. I hiked up the ISO to
6400 to keep the exposures shorter… something that the D3s’s amazing
high ISO capabilities affords you to do. Even so, I still did a
decent amount of noise reduction here, just to smoothen things out a
little. This is one of the MANY images that I lost the RAW file from
this trip. Luckily I was able to save the jpegs. Even with the
jpegs, color balance didn’t seem to be too much of an issue.
