Daily Disney - Great Movie Ride Alien

This was the first time in a long time that I can remember this alien actually working. ...definitely the scariest point in the Great Movie Ride. I'm pretty sure they toned down the alien that pops out of the ceiling though. Does anyone know for sure??

the last two times i went down, the alien never came out of the ceiling. mega bummed about that. I think the great movie ride is one attraction that could use a lil tlc, not really an overhaul, but just updating some of the effects.

One of my all-time favorite movies!
Alien appears on The Great Movie Ride three times. He pops out of the roof, Comes out of the wall (As shown above), and towards the very beginning in the queue is seen on the TV monitors. I don't believe he has at all been toned down though. Not sure.

hated the movie and hate this part of the ride. i was 9 when i saw this on Halloween night. i couldnt go on this ride FOREVER after watching that movie. i got over it but it still creeps me out.

i was in DHS in july and both came out.

The ceiling critter drops for the first car, wall critter for the second car. They are both still a part of the ride and script, but usually only one is functional. That poor show needs a refurb.

That's an incredible capture!! I remember the first time I went on this ride and my parents were so spooked and I was unfazed...I think I remind myself too much that it's "just a ride," it almost takes all the fun out of it! The Dinosaur ride at DAK, though, that T-Rex gets me every time!

This used to scare the crap out of me. I don't know if they toned it down, or if I just got more "brave" as I got older. Very nice capture of a difficult shot to get.

Amazing capture. I don't think it's been toned down either, I think it has to do with when it actually decides to function properly and of course the timing of the driver and his shouts of "look out". I've have a few that have missed there mark, which caused me to laugh till about the Tarzan scene :o)

It seems a lot less scary lately to me also... but also there was a pretty good chunk of time where I hadnt been and I was a kid before, so it may not have been that the ride changed so much as I just got older...
