Looks like the robins are getting ready to celebrate Valentine’s Day today…

In Venice, Italy – thousands of striped mooring poles, or “palina” can be found throughout the canals. It is said that they are a six-century old tradition and hundreds of years ago the colors on the Venetian mooring poles represented the families who owned them. Today, aging wooden poles in Venice are being replaced with plastic poles in order to reduce maintenance costs.

This is a replica of a common scene that you might see in Venice, Italy, with the palina and an empty gondola awaiting it’s passengers.

Caught this beautiful light while waiting for our Character Breakfast at the Crystal Palace... another hand held HDR this time three exposures and, unfortunately, jpegs because I lost the RAW files.

I've seen this done before... but I had to give it a shot with the ultra wide angle and hand held HDR.
