The Cleanup - Liuzhou Flood 2009![]() ![]() A Liuzhou retailer begins the arduous task of removing ankle deep mud from the garage under his shop. You can see the high-water mark along the back wall. I took these photos last month but I'm just getting around to getting them posted.
I greatly appreciate everybody checking in on me. I am actually doing fairly well with the disappointing exception of not being very motivated to take photos! I've hit a wall of some sort. I've not liked anything I have captured in months. Seriously, not one shot. On top of the creative slump there has been a lot of weird stuff going on with my health. Every time I think we have it figured out it seems something else happens. Of course there are the ever infuriating issues with The Great Firewall that periodically pop up as well. More of an annoyance than anything serious but still... annoying! I think I actually needed the break... More in the way of an update on my China blog. your photos, Michael, so... off to the other
end of your stream, hoping you come back with
enthusiasm and health issues all in order.

I am relieved to see you posting, Michael and sorry to hear about your health worries..been in a similar boat myself so know how debilitating it can be physically and mentally. I figure your creative slump is a state of mind thing and will pass as soon as you have some resolution to the other things in your life. Having said that, I reckon if I looked at what you've been taking that you don't like, I'd love it all. Perceived failure by the artist is often not the reality. This image is a case in point....
