Signs of Life / Signs of Hope
The homeless population in Houston generally looks to the interstate overpasses to find shelter and shade from the heat and elements. I'll routinely stumble across signs of life while walking down there: fire pits, beer bottles, and makeshift beds.
This afternoon I came across this pamphlet among a pile of broken beer bottles. These pamphlets are passed out regularly to the homeless by members of local churches. It appears as if someone under this lonely bridge was willing to read what they had to stay.
I felt inspired to see that in this hopeless situation someone was willing to devote their time to offer physical and spiritual assistance. Even more inspiring is the fact that someone was willing to hear the message.
I just picked up my 35L today - this is my first image taken with it.
