    also referred to as a Water Turkey because of it's long tail and the jerky way in which it swims.

    These birds do not have oil glands like the cormorant (which it is often confused with) and has to dry out it feathers after swimming.

      Great shot. I love watching chickens, ahem, Anhingas drying their feathers. It seems like such a peaceful, quiet act.
