Am I to assume the right side of the image faces south here?

East. It's a compromise trying to make the best of what we have as it's a refurb. We'd just about pull in enough south-easterly sunlight for roof lights / solar collectors; and just about pull in enough south-westerly sunlight to get some benefits from the two storey glazed section at the rear. ok, but there's something I don't get. Wouldn't it make more sense to put the solar collectors on the other side and just open up that part of the roof where the collectors are now to more daylighting? (cause that would look kick ass from that balcony railing there.) In essence, flipping that mess?

(yes, yes, you can tell me to STFU.. I'll go read the brief. I'm going, I'm going...)
