"If Freud is more talked about than read, the mint julep is more read about than drunk." So says Rob Chirico in his book "Field Guide to Cocktails" (Quirk Books, $14.95). He claims one survey revealed that 73 percent of Southerners have never tasted one of these muddled mint marvels. Horrors!
Try this Derby Day mix of mint (the debate remains as to whether it is muddled or not), bourbon and sugar. And a true Southerner always drinks a julep in a silver julep cup.
