It was very cold and many buses were canceled due to the snow storm, but the Peace March on the Pentagon was very well attended, nevertheless. Starting at the Lincoln Memorial, ending with a rally at the Pentagon's parking lot. The march meant many things to many people: bring the troops home, remove certain government officials, respect international laws, search for peaceful solutions to international and religious conflicts, etc. Some participants donned costumes, most carried signs prepared by organizers or home made. The most striking was probably a man pulling a flag wrapped coffin... with boots, dog tag and a picture of a fallen soldier. An admittedly smaller group of anti-protesters lined the street demonstrating that not all think alike and since we live in democracy, have a right to do... (Ok, so this is a disclaimer: I charged batteries for both of my cameras, but got distracted in the morning - it was 4:45am - and forgot to insert one of them. Then - it was so cold that my hands were shaking and I pressed a wrong button and switched the camera to manual mode - with completely wrong settings. That's why most of the pictures came out really poor).

Just a note - the group behind the guard are actually the "counter-protesters".... their signs read "Peace through strength" and "Win the War or Loose to Jihad" ....

Jaedde - thank you for your comment and I think your "mistake" is actually very telling: we are all the same people an should communicate better: us and them, pro-war and anti-war, believers, and non-believers, etc....
