Me: hey Sean, what are you doing tonight?
Sean: uh oh... what do you have in mind this time?
Me: Want to run around my neighborhood with lighting equipment?
Sean: ah ... sure..... I think?

I'm normally very camera-shy and believe that I really belong behind the lens. But I wanted to test out some ideas for a future shoot, and this is what transpired.

I do apologize for the pop-culture/Rihanna reference. But it sounded a lot catchier than "asian mary poppins meets strobist fanatic" :)

A bit longer drag on the exposure to bring up the atmosphere of the location, or in a place with more lights in the background.

That worked really well! I've had the worst luck getting my SB-600 to work outside without line of sight. Indoors with low ceilings? No problem! Outside? Not so much...

I think I'm a lot like you. I prefer to actually TAKE the pictures, but fairly often a lack of subject matter puts me in front of it. Keep it up! I wanna see more. :-)
