Part of my trek out to Kinderdijk. The original plan was to shoot a timelapse where the windmill is spinning in the foreground, while the stars spun in the background. But it was too cold - everything was frozen, so the windmills unfortunately didn't turn. (How cool would it have been if EVERYTHING spun!) Oh well, it was the first trial of an experiment - I guess I will return in the Spring.
But it was still a clear night, and the glow of cities in the distance nicely backlit the windmill. I thought about compiling it with the star trails technique, but decided i liked the simplicity of the stars just spinning subtly. (and the occasional streaks of planes or shooting stars or ufos)
