We are writing a book about circles and would
like to include this image. Unfortunately
there is no fee but you would be creditted.
Can you let me know asap if you would be
interested.
I'm a bit bothered that the gaps are not in
the middle. A shot like this needs to have
that extra level of exactness. Though this
might add a little tension. Otherwise the
technique is good, it's perfectly in focus
and the lighting is just great.
On the level of originality - it's a neat
abstract, one does not find that often, but
it is (no pun intended, I guess) just to
sterile for my taste.

A tricky one to rate. A well executed
photograph of a unusual view.
But that robotic coolness that some people
will like turns me off. There's no humanity,
no story to this picture. It lacks soul. I
appreciate that it's not supposed to have any
soul but a picture that inspires no other
emotion than 'oh, that's pretty' can't get
the highest marks in my world
@torabisu: I admit this is a personal thing
but, for me, humanity is the most important
thing in photography. That doesn't mean it
has to be an obvious element. If an abstract
inspires a sense of wonder or some other
strong emotion in the viewer I'd count that
as 'humanity'. But, as I said, that's a
personal opinion. As it happens, this picture
does inspire a *moderate* sense of wonder
which is why I gave it what I believe to be a
relatively good rating.

For me humanity is the most difficult thing,
it's difficult to grapple and constantly
morphs when I engage it. Doesn't necessarily
make great photographs, but when they are,
I'm more impressed.
I love how the pattern slowly changes and
morphs from the center out. Symmetry seems
good. The translucence and colour really help
the zing. BTW, I love this word. I started
throwing it around in DM recently, so glad to
be using it here.
I think that your technique is pretty good.
I don't have any quibbles about how you've
taken the shot, but on the other hand, I
don't think it was really technically
challenging or original so I'll give you a
4/5.
There's some OK zing as well. The colours
and shapes are austere and simple, and I like
the weird radiating out effect. It would make
a great desktop background. Still it's not
something I want to come back to, time and
time again. I give you a 3.5 for zing.
great shot of tips...i remember those from
the good ol days in the lab. elisa plates
also make beautiful macros....as do most all
things in labs.

I used to have a very similar photo. Your
lighting came out much better. They buy our
pipette tips in bulk now so no more boxes for
a retake though. Nice job.
