I'd just as soon not go to the grocery store on the weekends (about as much fun as a wisdom tooth extraction in my book), but with no food in the fridge, it had to be done. At least I got to prance about in my new, cool and comfy Airwalk sneakers, though.

You still have to go to the store, though. It's August, which means the college students are back, buying cheap beer and complaining about the cost of generic cheerios while wandering around with an "I need my mommy" look upon their faces. Combine that with the already rage inducing dimwits that insist on blocking the entire aisle or driving their carts on the left side and the parents who choose to wait come to the store when their little ones are nap deprived, hungry, and moments away from a kicking and screaming on the floor tantrum. It makes for a less than pleasant shopping experience.

Oh, sorry. Didn't mean to rant… um.....cute shoes! You know, brown's the new black.

phil, here in Podunk City, we've got two main chain supermarkets, Safeway and Fry's. Neither of these make for particularly enjoyable grocery shopping experiences, especially on the weekends, when everybody and their grandmother shows up at the same time. That's why to lessen the pain, I usually go during the week, at nights, when you don't have to fight to the death for a package of chicken (see crystal's rant). As for the cooking, I'm big on eating, just not doing the dishes. ;-)

lynnie, money? Wassat? I usually have to barter with the cashier with my magic beans to get my food.

Ooh, crystal, would ya, please? I may have to sneak in some bacon or rowdy ham in there on occasion, but otherwise, I wouldn't mind the fine vegetarian fare!

*gives cmerow a twenty for some beer and assorted snack goodies*

That's o.k., Esther. I actually cook meat. The kid-lets aren't veggies. Katie's favorite food is bacon (turkey bacon). I'm not your typical vegetarian.
