Craig Goch II

Craig Goch II

Craig Goch reservoir in Mid Wales. Taken from the dam in very windy weather, so I'm quite surprised at how sharp this turned out for a 25 second exposure using the HiTec 10stop ND3, stacked with a Lee ND Grad 0.3 to balance out the sky.

My Lovely Horse

My Lovely Horse

One of the wild ponies that are found at the foot of Hay Bluff in Mid Wales.

You can see the rolling hills in the background, with the patches of light shining through the clouds, which was typical throughout the day. Everything was very windswept.

Garreg Ddu Long Exposure

Garreg Ddu Long Exposure

Had an eventful (2 car crashes, puncture etc.) weekend trip to Elan valley with some friends. The weather was tricky, and incredibly windy, but enjoyable. This is a long exposure of the Garreg Ddu reservoir in Elan Valley, Wales. I'm amazed that this came out as sharp as it did considering the wind was horrendous (as evidenced by the clouds in this shot) and the fact I had two filters stacked for a 20 second exposure. Foel Tower can be seen to the right and this shot was taken whilst standing on the Garreg Ddu (literally translates into "Black Rock" or "Black Stone" - Appropriate considering the Black Mountains) Dam, where the water level was very very high.

Canon 60D, Sigma 10-20mm lens @f14. 20 Seconds exposure with a HiTex Pro ND3 filter and Lee 0.9ND Grad filter. And my fancy new Manfrotto Carbon Fibre Tripod!

Taken somewhere near Tintern in South East Wales early one autumn morning.

There was still a little morning mist rolling around the valley, that can be seen in the middle of the shot and poking through some of the trees. You can also still see the morning sunrise colours in the sky.

The Fire Seas of Wales

The Fire Seas of Wales

Taken at Dunraven Bay, near Bridgend in South Wales. Quite a difficult sunset to shoot as it was a completely clear, cold evening, so the sun was really harsh.

To get this, I had two Lee ND grads on, a 0.6 and a 0.9 to try and dampen the sun a bit. Fortunately managed to capture some really nice colours in the waves that were soaking my feet.
