After doing a similar shot at North Beach a few weeks ago, I've been itching to try this shot again. I'm pretty happy with the result, but I think I prefer the other shot.

Just a quick snap of the city in between setups for a couple of timelapse videos that I was shooting.

Was a pretty still evening, this was a 120s exposure, and the clouds don't seem to have moved much.

Well it was bound to happen, nothing happened as planned on this day.

First off, I had to work, which is the most un-Australian thing that could be possible on Australia day. To top it off, it was very busy too. I suppose the only consolation was that it was 40C degrees, I doubt I would have done too much during the day.

In the evening a couple of friends and I were planning to take our motorbikes into the city for the Skyshow, hopefully allowing us to make a quick escape to avoid traffic once the show was finished. I haven't quite perfected the art of taking my camera gear on the bike yet (and I'm still a little hesitant), so all I had with me was the 7D and Tamron 17-50.

Unfortunately, we didn't anticipate a pretty large storm coming in which meant riding in was out of the question, especially with a new front tyre. So we took a mates car in, but we were too late (not to mention as well that the car was running on empty the whole journey too), so we parked on the side of the freeway with 50 or so other cars. Of course I didn't have my tripod with me so I had to try and make do with it sitting on the roof of the car in the wind and rain.

Oh well, there's always next year :)
