Tour of recent clearcut with reserves

Photos from a timber harvest site in Cass County MN. This was a clearcut with all pine and bur oak reserved. The site has profuse but patchy aspen regeneration, mostly in the open spots.

The hope is that the red and white pines will seed in naturally. They may do patchy soil scarification to promote pine regen, but have not done it yet.
