I've been thinking about this photo since I first saw it. I'm entranced with the way you made the film look like a painting. Is it because it was a pinhole/poloroid/exposure/lighting? Good control of your tools.

The look is created by a combination of things. The pinhole (can't remember if I was using the smallest zone plate or a larger pinhole - my camera has 3 sizes of each that I can dial around) but whatever it was, the effect is one of a bit of shimmer. Additionally, the wind was blowing and I actually opened the shutter a couple of times during a 4 second exposure in order to capture the movement of the tree leaves and branches and the grasses. This image was made at around 5:30 - 6:00 pm when the light is very angled and quite magical. Finally, the Polaroid type 79 film is very soft and unpredictable as far as the color is concerned. I had to do a little bit of color correcting in photoshop - mostly taking away an overall green cast. But the beauty of the polaroid is that it is instant and I have now worked with enough to know what I will get with the most minimal amount of photoshop "darkroom" work.
