Harvest moon

Harvest moon by erin m.

Taken during the Harvest Moon on Sept. 15. Some prefer the view from Virginia to get the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial in the shot. I stumbled into this view last time around when I was too lazy to lug my gear all the way across the river. This time, there were four or five others around me at the Reflecting Pool at the base of the Capitol (and we were left blissfully alone by the normally anti-tripod Capitol Police).
