Casa Batlló

I wanted to convert one of my already uploaded images to B&W. This image seemed to be the most logical choice...This one is also the uncropped version.

Between 1904 and 1907, Antoni Gaudi worked for the industrialist Josep Batlló Casanovas reforming a house built in 1877 and located in Passeig de Gràcia. The Barcelona population of the period were quite astonished by his work and quickly gave it nicknames such as the House of Bones or the House of Yawns

I really like the defenders shot but the one thing that bothers me is the dirty overlay-- it definitely makes the mood when compared to the original, but I would've rather seen a more organic process to achieve the effect--
the challengers image is just as superb as it is mysterious--

note- I'm sorry I didn't see the other 2 yes votes-- they weren't in bold

I like the composition and athmosphere in the defenders but I agree with PJ regarding the mask... This is a clean, direct, and lovely composition that has my vote this time.

I prefer the defender as it tells a more interesting story, and a more unusual processing of the photo adds to the atmosphere.
This is an excellent photo, but its impact is mainly due to the unusual architecture. In the end it is simply a shot of a tourist walking around inside a sterile museum.

I prefer the processing in the challenger, as well as the nice clean lines and how it emphasizes the woman.

hence the 'before' portion of the rule.

I do understand how much time it takes to come up with witty comments like yours though...

    'funny...'
    'It is messy...'
    'Really cool undies...'
    'It is a tree!'
    'Don't like the bokeh'

You have a wonderful economy with words.
