The Doctor Will See You Now by Eric M Martin

The Doctor Will See You Now

003/365

This is Caden. If you follow my 365, I'm sure you'll get to see a lot more of him as well as the rest of my family.

He was playing Doctor (these glasses are part of the kit) and I grabbed him and had him stand near our back door. Using the natural light and my 50mm lens wide open, I was able to capture him in full Doctor mode ;)

Off The Chain by Eric M Martin

Off The Chain

002/365

Day 2 and I'm already out of ideas...ha-ha. Seriously though, doing a 365 has caused an interesting side-effect. Once I've taken a picture that I think I'll use, I don't want to take any more pictures for fear of wasting an idea for another day. Anyone else?

The SOOC version of this was very over-exposed. I'm still getting used to the D90 and have made some pretty silly "rookie" mistakes the last few days. It's one of the reasons I'm looking forward to doing a 365. I used Lightroom and Photoshop until I came up with something I liked.

On another note, I decided to forgo the blog and just write down everything here.

The Tie That Binds by Eric M Martin

The Tie That Binds

001/365

Well, here it is…the start of my 365. I’ve been thinking a lot about the direction, if any, I want to go (style, theme, etc.), but I think I’m just going to take it one day at a time and see where that leads.

This was taken at our boys preschool, where we were doing some clean-up work. I took a few other shots around the school but liked this one the best. I was shooting in M (manual) mode and had accidentally left the white-balance (WB) on Flash from photos I was taking earlier in the day.

Having just got the D90, I’m still figuring out all of the settings. There are so many more options than there is on the D40.

So, Happy New Year everyone and here's to 2010!

Nikon D90 by Eric M Martin

Nikon D90

My big Christmas present this year was a Nikon D90. I haven't had a chance to play with it much, but so far, it seems like a huge step up from the D40.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

I've included a few other versions below. They all have serious flaws, but at least I had fun taking them.

Try not to laugh to hard at the water glass that I used to pour the beer in ;)
