Wheat in the Wind...

Wheat in the Wind...

I might as well start a 365 or 366 if your a hipster with all of the uploads I'm posting, hopefully if I decide to do one I can make it past day 30 for once... I finally got around to going to Columbus Camera Group and grabbing all the supplies I need to start processing all of my black and white negatives at home which while it will be a great learning experience, is going to add a whole new set of things to screw up... oh well I have alot of time to learn!

Another shot off of my quick test role of Fuji Film in my new Minolta SRT-102, I like the picture but I really need to do something about the scanning, it looks like the negative didn't sit flush to the scanner which is why its so out of focus. As always thanks for looking!

SRT in the Winter

SRT in the Winter

I just finished CLA'ing two old Minolta SRT's, an SRT-202 that belonged to my father when he was in Alaska and Florida and a SRT-102 I picked up off of Ebay for $10... I needed to go ahead and run some film through to make sure everything was in place and it was all sealed up. I was happily surprised by the results even if the scans weren't top notch.

Kodak T-Max Collage

Kodak T-Max Collage

Pulled some of my first negatives out from a year ago and decided to give them the new scan treatment and as it turns out, they look much better then before. I never knew how much sharpening these scans can take but its ten times more than what I can do two my 5D shots... Thanks for looking and as always comments are appreciated.

Scan Test Epson V600

Scan Test Epson V600

So, I'm still in the process of developing a decent scan process for my 120 negatives... after two hours of pouring over internet blogs and recommendations, this is my most recent attempt at a "finished product." Finally getting a true color rendition after some tweaking in photoshop and its certainly not as grainy and my last attempt, still really getting there though so if anyone has suggestions please let me know.

Dawes Fall in Film

Dawes Fall in Film

So, I've just recently been granted enough time in between classes to invest in creating and tailoring a real film workflow from shooting through scanning and then eventually uploading it to share with the great people of flickr. It's been a year since I purchased the 500c and I'm just now finally beginning to understand its nuances enough to be comfortable shooting on a day to day basis with it. The problem I run into is scanning my finished 120 negatives in for final correcting in photoshop, with the Epson V600 I thought my results would be better then what I posted so far. This is my latest attempt, and while there is some noticeable improvement, I'd love to hear if anyone has some answers in unlocking the V600's potential.

Thanks all for looking!
