Meringues & German Pfeffernusse

I made these dainty meringues and warmly spiced German cookies called Pfeffernusse during the Holiday season but they’re perfect for tea anytime!

There are many different recipes for Pfeffernusse! This one is absolutely delicious and contains candied ginger, lemon zest, ground almonds, brown and white sugars, eggs, and loads of spices :: cinnamon, more ginger, cardamom, nutmeg, black pepper, cloves, and allspice!

I love this pale, vintage green, pressed glass pedestal :-) It's a beautiful reproduction. The pretty amber glass dish is vintage.

I really loved this recipe, Rosie - let me know if you can't find it and I'll send it to you (I'll try to find the magazine I got it from in the meantime!) PS They're easy to make too :-)
