Sisters United

Sisters United

My youngest daughter Gabi is beginning her 3rd year in club soccer. When she was younger, in the PCS years (pre-club soccer) j/k, we used to tease our neighbors about the long weekends they would spend driving all over Southern California, spending all day in the sun, rain and, yes, sometimes even snow for their kids who played club. My wife and I couldn't imagine how they could possibly enjoy doing that. Well, as recreational soccer slowly led into academy soccer which led to Gabi getting recruited to a club team I now find myself spending weekends making those same drives and couldn't be happier.

We are fortunate to have many large clubs in So Cal which makes for a strong and competitive soccer culture. We are right in the middle of summer tournament season and ready for league to begin in September.

This is a shot of her team for the 2011/12 season. Had this printed to t-shirts for the girls to wear between games this weekend and they couldn't be more excited about the result.

Go United! and Go Gabi!

Pace, Balance & Patience

Pace, Balance & Patience

This is my middle daughter Danielle. She's just finished her first year of high school and is moving full speed ahead. Smart, kind, caring, diligent... many of the ingredients for success. Problem is, like many teenagers, she wants it all now. What a challenge to teach a kid the importance of pace, balance and patience. But, then again, I'm still trying to learn the same myself.

Little Yafa

Little Yafa

This is my youngest daughter Gabi. We call her Little Yafa because she is a mini-version of her mom in all ways. Truly a remarkable child. Compassionate, smart, athletic... the list goes on. She is going to be an amazing adult one day... I just wish she'd stop growing up so fast. It seems like only yesterday we were taking her for walks in her stroller; now she can maintain an 8 minute mile pace for three miles leaving the rest of the family in the dust.
