      I'm not sure exactly what crop it is David, almost certainly from the brassica family and I would guess cabbage or possibly sprouts - both are winter crops and would probably do well in this location, and sprouts are eaten a lot at Christmas. I think I will try to get back there in a few weeks and see what they look like then.

      Nice shot, maybe winter greens or kale, look a bit too young for sprouts for this year (I think ).

      Thanks Brian, you may well be right about the sprouts, I don't know or rather can't remember how long their growing season is. I did grow them many years ago but the memory is also many years old :) It may be an interesting project to try and photograph this scene over the next few weeks and see how they progress - good excuse to go to Padstow for a walk!

      I grew then once (about 32 years ago) when we had a large, and very overgown, garden. Seem to think they should be bigger than this by now but my memory isn't that good either.
