I'm sure I should know this one but just can't think what it is. Done a few searches but come up with nothing, not even in my RHS Flower Encyclopedia under spring flowers. I have a feeling it may be a ranunculus. Anyone got any ideas?
Identified as an anemone by annabellafranc - thanks Anna!

This is an anemone de caen. It is in the ranunculus family. They
sell these anemones in Paris in red, blue, white, yellow, green,
lavender - and I may have left out a few colors. Beautiful flowers,
especially in a vase. They are not hardy in colder climates like
Vermont. Zone 6, I believe. Beautiful shot!
