   If alabama and lsu are the two best teams in the nation than they should play for the chamionship. The sec is the toughest conf. in ncaa football; if lsu and bama didn't play in the regular season alabama would have had a perfect season.

    OSU would be beat by 20 plus points by either LSU or Alabama. Arkansas is the same style team as OSU and look what both Bama and LSU did to them. Dont get beat by an unranked team you were supposed to beat by three TDs and maybe OSU would get their shot

    OSU, Boise, TCU and Houston all got screwed and I am a California guy with no ties to any of these schools. The SEC is bs and the LSU Alabama game is a good example. In other leagues, when an open receiver drops a pass it is an offensive mistake, but in the SEC they call it great defense even though the d back got blitzed. Watch that game, filled with mistakes, especially on offensive side and on these so called great defenses. Boise and OSC would smoke them, but we will never know because they will not play them. These are schools with no academic standards or ethics (how many LSU players got in trouble with the law) and they would play Jack the Ripper if he could run a 4.4 40yards. Besides, they committed the ultimate mistake, their last game was so boring that the ESPN guys were stuttering to find words to try and justify the hype. Oh remember the division runner up Georgia getting beat up by a Boise team with 3 key players out and several injuries. What is our country coming to-didn't we used to make sure that people had to earn what they received. And, don't get me started on West Virginia and Va. Tech-it seems you get a shot at BCS championship bowls if you get enough fans to come and spend money. Next, you will see a big school witha 6 and 7 record in The Sugar bowl because they can bring in the fans. With that thinking, just form a minor league pro system and let the schools, like OSU and Boise and TCU, play in the real college bowls.

    Fightboy,why cant any team win a national championship game,over the SEC,the past 5 years? Ark.could probably be Boise.Lets watch the Bowls.Last year,SEC did pretty good.I would have preferred OSU,myself.They got screwed,because of the writers votes.

    It is sad that the great BCS gurus are so afraid to pit Boise State against Stanford or Arkansas or even Oklahoma State to see how good they really are. Of course, I guess when a team has a quarterback like Kellen Moore that has currently won 49 games, 4 more than Colt McCoy, it gives them reason to be frightened little bunny rabbits!!! He's not only good on the field, he is an inspiration off the field. Beating Arizona will give him an even 50 leaving an awfully high mark for the next guy to be the Winningest Quarterback in College Football History. Sorry BCS, you can't take that from him even if you don't have the class to honor him for it. Watch out for the pro team that gets him.

    wow...does fightboy even watch football? Boise St would have a 7-5 record at best if they had SEC schedule. They dont play ANYBODY!!!!! Oh wait they played a young Georgia team week! of the season. And OK St had their chance but let Iowa St beat them...at home.     Apparently, their accountants!

    Of 35 scheduled Bowl Games this season, ESPN was outbid on only 4 by the free networks (FOX, ABC, CBS, NBC)!!
    Wow! Cable subscribers must be proud of their clout (or maybe suspicious of the rates they are charged?)!

    So, if you don't sponsor ESPN exploits, where do you plan to watch the National Championship game on 1/9/12?

    Wow, what a response. First, I agree that a 6 and 7 team should not get a bowl, but my point is that the BCS bowls, like the Sugar bowl,invite 2 or 3 loss teams like West Virginia and Va. Tech, both of whom are mediocre at best, passing over much better teams like Boise State and TCU, all on the pretext they can bring in more fans and more money. Taking that kind of thinking, it is not inconceivable that one of the BSC bowls will take a 6 and 7 teaM, TO GET THE FANS AND MONEY. Man, it is all corrupt. It is not about performance. With regard to strenth of schedule, Alabama played such powerhouses as Kent State,North Texas, Georgia Southern, Vanderbilt and Ole Miss. You know what Boise and TCU would do to those teams. I do watch alot of football and I remember watching Boise embarass Georgia, the runner up in the SEC. If LSU is for real, they should demand to play OSU, Boise or TCU. Instead they duck them. OSU's offense would torch LSU. But we will never know, will we. TCU won the Rose Bowl last year and Boise has defeated Oklahoma, Oregon, TCU, Va Tech, and Georgia. Again, I have no ties to any of these schools, but the SEC and the BCS will always be suspect until they stop protecting those schools and passing over schools that really threaten them. If you claim to be the best, you play the best and do not rely on the stuffing of the ballot boxes by insecur coaches who are afraid to take a risk Just explain to me why Boise is not playing in
    a BCS bowl while Va. Tech, WV, are. Hey, and what about Michigan and Clemson? All of this is no different than "Wall Street." Lets' stop all the pretenbse and form a minor pro league.Fightboy

    I have never been a fan of the BCS nor will I ever be. Taking coaches opinions into consideration when ranking teams is ridiculous. Of course the coaches are going to vote according to what benefits them. However, when it comes to the SEC you have to look at the NFL draft. Where do the top picks come from? The SEC. Why? Because the SEC is the strongest conference in the NCAA. I must admit that some of the games that teams like LSU and Alabama play are, well soft to be nice. Bama plays San Jose St. and destroys them by 70 points and this gets taken into consideration with rankings. I personally would like to see some sort of playoff put in place to see what teams are truly deserving to go to the big dance. When I see teams like Penn St. and Texas still ranked in the top 25 there is a problem.

    Alabama and LSU are the best this year as neither lost to any unranked teams. There is some stupid rule that there can't be more than two teams from the same conference in any of the BCS Bowls. That needs to change as it really shouldn't matter about the conference if you're in the top 10 and have beaten many Division I teams with winning records. That crazy rule is why Virginia Tech is getting to play in the Sugar Bowl instead of Arkansas. All of the other SEC teams are locked out of the BCS because two of their teams are already playing for the National Championship. That's unfair as a team can't help what the rest of the teams in their conference do. Arkansas' only losses were to #1 and #2 so they should definitely get to play in that bowl over Virginia Tech who lost in a woefully pathetic manner to the same Clempson team twice! I think that Boise State should have gotten to play against Michican in the Sugar Bowl over the pathetic Virginic Tech who is ranked way lower than Boise State. Yea, that one was definitely about the money. There are definitly some rules that need to be fixed!

    Here we go just another season were the skeptics, think they have been passed over to let the best teams in the nation(LSU and ALABAMA) play in the championship game, if you watched these teams play this season, there is no doubt they are the best and ranking means nothing to me, OSU is a second rate team at best, with a QB thats way over rated, you bet he will go pro and fall flat on his face, just like several others ya'll thought were great , LSU has been very lucky this season, and anyone who watched the game against ALABAMA knows they were out play on both sides of the ball, they should have been beaten but here we are and ya'll think there is a better choice to beat LSU than ALABAMA, OSU LOL, TCU, BOISE, hell they play like high school teams next to ALABAMA, LSU, ARKASAS, even GEORGA, good luck with your pics on the winners of the bowl games, SEC is by far the best conference.

    an SEC has won the national title for five straight years, six when this year is completed, and nine times since 1992 with five different teams. No other conference has more than two teams represented. Like it or not, the best football is played in the South East. The BCS has again matched the two best teams and at the same time saved Oklahoma State from being humiliated on a national stage.

    the SEC is afraid to put boise state on their nonconfernce schedule except Georgia. The SEC plays the weekest non confrerence schedule in the country because they are afraid to take a chance and lose to the winningest team since the bcs came about that being boise with oklahoma a close 2nd the sec isnt even close to that. if the SEC is so damn good go plat Boise @ boise why does boise always have to travel and the last time i checked didnt Georgia play in the SEC title game now all the SEC lovers say they suck well so does more then half the SEC. celtic son so Boise plays like a high school team compared to Geogia well since boise beat them i gues that makes Georgia a peewee team ehh!!!

    USC (West Coast) is currently banned! Oregon had their chance against the SEC last year and got beat by Auburn. South Carolina is an SEC team that scheduled Boise State in 2001 and beat them 32-12. Sounds like a good beat down to me! The last time South Carolina played that West Coast USC long ago before joining the SEC, South Carolina won! It was quite a night to remember! South Carolina is "The USC"! 75% of SEC teams are in bowl games this year. The schedules of SEC teams are plenty tough, already the toughest in the nation. Look at poor Tennesse this year who had to play Georgia, LSU, Alabama, and South Carolina all in a row! Note that South Carolina beat Georgia and only had losses to Arkansas and Auburn. Their Auburn loss was only by 3 points and Auburn had a touchdown that shouldn't have counted as their guy had stepped out of bounds but somehow a flag was not thrown. Then the last 4 secondsof the game mysteriouly disappeared off the clock when there could have been enough time for a Hail Mary. If South Carolina had won, it would have been them playing LSU for the SEC championship instead of Georgia. LSU is extremely and monstrously strong and would probably still have won, locking South Carolina out of a BCS game anyway because of that stupid rule limiting the number of teams from the same conference. Also note that South Carolina beat Big 10 Ohio State twice in a row in the 2001 and 2002 Outback Bowls! They also thumped Alabama last year when Bama was ranked #1, won the SEC East, and thumped Florida and Tennessee along the way. They also have the tiglets from Clempson who is their in-state rival from the ACC who is sometimes either ranked or rank that they play every year. They've kicked their behinds three years in a row and this year Clempson is the ACC champion playing in the Orange Bowl! Guess the ACC will never have to worry about that 2-team limit from the same conference! At least South Carolina is in the Capital One Bowl which is more prestigious than the Outback where Georgia is going. Been there, done that at 7-5 and 8-4, so a 10-2 in the SEC is definitely deserving of a better bowl game. GO GAMECOCKS!!!

    The SEC and BCS are a joke. As they say in boxing, you are nobody if you fight nobody. Alabama-LSU, what a bore and substandard offense and bad QBs. Receivers who drop passes, running backs who are so slow to hit the hole that you can go get a beer and come back and he is not there yet, and FG kickers who should go back to soccer. What everybody else calls bad offense, the SEC calls good defense. USC, okl. sTATE, bOISE, tcu, sTANFORD would kill these guys-that is why they run and hide and play each other. And the NFL, these other conferences do as well if not better than the SEC-the best QB-Aaron Rodgers Cal;the best linebacker Clay Matthews USC; the next best quarterback Tom Brady Michigan-the best TE's of all time Tony Gonzales Cal and Antonio Gates-no college play. I could go on and on. And CockmagicBall, we on the West Coast really like South Carolina, but they will never get a break in the SEC-so many bad calls over they years that even Spurrier has openly complained. Also, look at all of the trouble that the players get in to and the lack of academic standards and the lack of enforcement by the schools. Just form a minor pro league and let the real college students play college ball. As I said before, the is just like Wall Street. Fightboy.

    I could not care less about the SEC. All I'm sure of is that I watched the first meeting of LSU and 'Bama and it was such a boring game that I had to fight to keep my eyes open. The notion that the national championship is a rematch of two teams who bored me senseless is a travesty. And this is not a solitary opinion. Unless you happen to be a fan of either the Tigers or the Tide, that game was a total freaking snore. OSU-Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl is the game I'm looking forward to, and it matters absolutely zero to me what the corrupt, greedy BCS thinks.

    Hey allabouttheu, If they are the best conference why don't they prove it. They constantly make up excuses and duck the teams that threaten them. Remember when Utah spanked Alabama, instead of admiting they got beat by a better team, the Armani clad coach blamed everytbody but his team for the loss. Boise State embarrased Georgia at home and again more excuses. And Maimi, lets see, I am not going to beat you up when you are down. Remember, when Maimi got beat by a young Cal team in a bowl game, no excuses, silence. You say the motivation is not $, read the papers and police blotters. Ignorant, maybe so, but I have a relative who played in the NFL, I have coached, and I have a son who is a youth football All Star. I think I know football. What is wrong with the BCS and the SEC is what is wrong with this country, it is all about hype, not performance or standards.     We need a playoff period you lose one game and your done? Not fair anyone of these teams could win it that's why they have a playoff system in every other sport that I know of. Why they don't who knows. Money? (they would make more) Time? ( have plenty of it between end of season and new years) Bowl games?     1. The SEC tried to get a playoff in 2009. It was turned down by the BigXII and the ACC.

    2. Academically, Alabama is rated higher by USN&WR than Okie State.

    3. Alabama lost to the #1 team by 3 in OT on November 5th. Okie State lost to a 6-6 team on November 18th.

    4. You mentioned Oregon. LSU played them THIS year. Auburn played them in the NC game last year. What happened in those games.

    5. Alabama destroyed every team they played except LSU. All double digit wins. Okie State? Not so much.

    If the argument that the best teams in the country should play for the championship, regardless if they already played each other earlier in the season, is a valid argument, then explain why in 2006 when Ohio State and Michigan were considered to be the best two teams in the country they didn't play each other again for the national championship. The argument at the time was that since they already had played one another that the game should go to someone else. Both the first Bama / LSU game and OSU / Michigan games were decided by 3 points. Looks like the SEC is the favored conference and arguments for or against them are based on whether or not they get their way. We need a play off system, simple as that.

    Every one of those teams you pansies are whining about had their chance, and they all lost miserably in the month of November. Boise lost to a TCU team who lost to both Baylor and SMU. Okie State looked like crap against 6-6 Iowa State. Stanford got trampled by an Oregon team who got trampled by LSU. Who in their right mind could put any of these teams in the National Championship Game? You people must be tweaked out of your minds on egg nog or something.

    Everyone keeps complaining about the SEC never plays anyone, well I think if you look, all the other conferences have sent someone to the big game and usually get blown out by the SEC team. You complain that the LSU-Alabama matchup was boring, no they played a part of football the rest forgets, DEFENSE, this is why your conference gets blown out in the National Championship game. Face it folks, the SEC is the strongest, until you can unseat us from the crystal football, SHUT UP!!!
