Black Bear at the Sioux Narrows Dump
Amusingly, the garbage dump is a bit of a tourist attraction; a lot of people bring their cameras and relatives to see the bears.

That's a big one, nice. They're running around here baiting them so they can shoot the with arrows in a few more weeks.

Impressive! Several of my hiking contacts tell me that they have to keep a lookout for these when hiking over your neck of the woods - I don't think I'd ever hike ever again if I came over to visit Canada or the USA!

Thanks all for the comments!
I just realized today that the saturation on my monitor is lower than what most people have set on their monitors. ..so my pictures for most people appear more saturated than I intend.

I'm glad to see this was taken from the long end of the zoom. :)
Kristin and I saw a black bear cub running across the highway during out camping trip, but neither of us had cameras out at the time and we missed the event. The shot wouldn't have been nearly as nice as this though, well done on the capture.

Wow- great shot.
There's a dump by Royal Lake (not far from the MB/ON border) that has the same situation. I haven't been there in a long time, but I remember as a kid going there with friends once in a while to see the bears.
