Registration Mark

Registration Mark by elvisthefish.
Legal question for you legal-type folks out there -- can an artist properly register art that is installed on property to which the artist was not given permission to enter?

Mr. Kimberly  Pro User  says:

I think the first level of legal protection would be copyright, which is a claim of authorship, and is about the image itself. That would be denoted by a circle c.

A circle r notes a registered trademark, which is usually associated with a product or service, again only relates to the image.

Neither one of these things offers any sort of protection against the proper property owner painting over this. Even if the artist was hired by the owner, "work by hire" means that the art is property of the owner, not the artist.

However, I am an unemployed art major, so what do I know.

Love these Atlanta Photostroll 8.5 images of yours.
