Domaine Rolet Poulsard Old Vines Arbois AOC $38
Stage 9: Coming back from Switzerland the tour finds itself in Besancon, the regional capital of Jura. The Jura is all rolling green hills, cows and a few vines. Its wines and cheeses are appreciated for following the traditional styles of the region. Based on the red grape poulsard, this medium bodied wine offers notes of spiced cherries, red currants and fresh soil with fine grainy tannins. Serve with a local dish of Escalope de Veau Comtoise (veal scallopine with a creamy mushroom sauce).
• Cheese: Le Duc Vacherin
