My tomatoes are being difficult. The Burbank bush has had more than half its potential fruits get this -- usually when they're still green: the blossom end just silently rots out. Now the Brandywine bush is getting in on the action, and I still have little idea what's causing it.

There's no sign of insect involvement, even when I cut them open to inspect.

** UPDATE **
This appears to be blossom-end rot, a calcium deficiency.
