the cc crowd

Nearly a month old now, but here are some shots from election night. Spent the early hours watching returns in the campus center, but when the big ones started to come in, headed uphill to 37 Upland to join people who were just as anxious/excited as I was. They had the full set up there - flipping back and forth between the big networks, a monitor set up for the NYT and www.fivethirtyeight.com, and at least three people with their laptops checking returns online.

Then, headed over to Trunk rehearsal, where we made it thru GT/BT and half a run of Squirrels before someone whispered, "They called it." Liz and I sprinted (literally!) back to 37 to catch McCain's concession and President-Elect (!) Obama's speech, and then Tim, Jess, and I joined the crowds in front of Bacow's house for a huge celebration rally, replete with a lap around the academic quad. The hoards then marched down to Davis, sung a couple patriotic songs, and headed back towards campus, where I called it a night and crawled into bed, smiling I'm sure.
